Fet Alimentaire Lokal

October 23rd, 2013

I’m not exactly sure on the proper name of the party, or how to spell it, but if I remember correctly they called it Fet Alimentaire Lokal, which is a local food party.

On Monday we celebrated local foods in Haiti and we feasted!  Different participants from the school brought in local fruit, vegetables and rice to be displayed at the party.  Explanations were given about each food; what is was, how you prepare it, why it’s good for you.  After which it was cut up and eaten, and it was GOOD!  Fresh avocado, mangoes, pineapples, cherries, bananas, limes, papaya, watermelon, green peppers, lalou, rice etc… isn’t your mouth watering just reading over the list.

Enjoy some pictures from the Gwo Fet!
